The Emerald Golf Club originally opened on 2nd December 1934 and was originally located near the current cricket fields and Mitre 10 store with 9 holes of sand greens. The Club was relocated to its current location in 1947 with 9 holes of sand greens. On March 7, 1976 the club opened 9 holes of grass greens and in 1985 upgraded to 18 holes of full grass greens. The current clubhouse was constructed and officially opened on 21st October 1995. Wednesday Club was founded in 1971 and still going strong today.
